Queen Bee of the Japanese Botanical Garden

A Character Design of the Bee Queen of the Japanese Botanical Garden (they have zen gardens as well). I am proud of this one.
She wears a kimono with a bustier in replacement of the obi belt. The bustier provides a desirable sweetheart neckline that the obi belt can't.
The bustier also cinched multiple layers of colorful sheer drapes within. The drapes pucker as they billow, creating a fluid covering over the kimono, making it look weightless.

This is a pre-production illustration for my novella, 'Flowers'. It has been my greatest undying passion since 2010.
